Following the road which passes the York Town turnoff takes you to the end of the road at Greens Beach; as you start to descend into town you start to get a view of the estuary to the East; the view at top is the beach level view across to the estuary.
The town is very much a mix of permanent dwellings and a large number of holiday homes most vying for the view as usual. The esplanade at the end of the road offers a store and the Golf Club, together with public amenities and beach access. The view to the West takes in West Head where we next headed for a view further along the coastline.
West Head offers a lookout known also as badgers Beach Lookout as that is what it overlooks quite spectacularly. The view here takes in a long section of the north West coast as it sweeps gradually Northwards fading into the haze.
The beach can be accessed by another walking track from the car park and the vegetation reflects the wild and windy nature of a coast which faces Bass Strait.
