Kenilworth – “The Heart of the Mary Valley”
Finally left the Brisbane area (until Keith might need to go back for a small operation in Ipswich, yet to be organised but probably June); decided to head North to the .Kenilworth Showgrounds and Easter is only a week away so we have to decide about that as well. Kenilworth is in the Western part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and is “the Heart of the Mary Valley”. Stopped off at the Morayfield Roadhouse for a snack and topped up with Diesel, arrived at Kenilworth about 2.45 to find a nice spacious Showground area with info from a fellow ‘vanner to “just find a spot and he’ll come and find you later”. Plenty of power boxes and taps along the creek side so there we went.
This looked really pleasant so we decided to stay over Easter if we could; they were fully booked but Clem (caretaker/volunteer) said he could find us a spot even if it was without power for the 3 or 4 nights. With a rate of only $105 for a week ($16 single night) it is well worth the money so here we are.
