On Easter Saturday Kenilworth has a Cheese, Wine and Food festival as it has a local cheese factory right on the edge of town and just up the road from the Showgrounds; this brings hundreds of visitors to the town including an influx into the Showgrounds of around 200 caravans, motorhomes, and tents.
On the Thursday we had to move about 3 sites to our left to allow for block bookings either side of us and this was being accomplished without much difficulty until something fell over in the toilet and pressed continuously on the flush button causing the toilet tank to overflow – YUUUUUCK! I had been told to never let this happen, now we know! Anyway all cleaned up we settled into our new spot having to visit the local produce store and buy another drinking water hose to extend our range from the tap. The Showgrounds certainly filled up by Friday night and in fact only one group of six failed to show up.
The festival was well attended and we did buy some local fig jam, yet to be tried, and as there was a stallholder promoting satellite TV and LED lighting we bought a 5 metre roll of leds as we have a couple of lighting issues to resolve (Trying to eliminate all remaining incandescent lamps).
This was applied first to improving our outdoor lighting under the awning with great results:
Now being Easter Monday a lot of people have left and I guess by tomorrow we will be back to a much smaller number of vans although being another long weekend for Anzac Day this Friday I expect some stayers taking extended breaks.
Finally got around to finishing the electrical wiring adding the switch box and re-routing everything via the busbars making a much tidier battery area:
