Only a 50km drive from the Lagoon, the RV camp area at Meandarra is very well set up by the Western Downs Council. It has four bollards with power and water connections plus lots of other space if you don’t need to “hook up”.
Fees are $10/night but you get nights 2 and 3 free with payment for the first. After that it is $10 each up to a maximum stay of 14 days. Directly opposite is a small toilet and shower block, BBQ and a Dump Point. The hotel and shops are a short walk around the block although there is no actual grocery store left here any more; the take-away stocks basic groceries so you can top up with essentials but no meat.
After arriving late morning Tuesday Frances caught up on clothes washing but then it rained from 7pm Tuesday until 1pm Wednesday which brought a halt to the washing, to be finished Thursday.
We were joined at our power pole by the QRL Regional Operations Manager visiting his clubs which include some over the border in northern NSW
As Thursday was Keith’s birthday (69!!) we had a take away fish and chips dinner with Magnum Ice Creams from the local store, good food all around and no cooking!
