From Mt Field we returned to the Hobart area for a few days and stayed again at The Lea Scoutcamp; we caught up with a couple of friends in the Huon Valley and for our last day visited the now world famous MONA. Hobart was having one of it’s 40 degreee days so we took advantage of the aircon in MONA for most of the day although when we emerged after 5 it was still around 38!
This is truly an amazing place, all built under ground on three levels and still being expanded. Exhibits range from the more traditional, Nolan, Whiteley etc. to outrageous (Fat Car – a genuine Porsche Carrera Cabriolet covered in Fibreglass) and bizarre (The Cloacca or “Pooping Machine”) These pictures are just a small sample.
