Jericho is one of the small communities along the Highway between Emerald and Barcaldine, the Barcaldine Shire provide an extensive camping area along the bank of the Jordan River. The camp provides toilets and drinking water for a fee of $6 per night via an honesty box onsite.
On the way from Lake Maraboon (Emerald) you climb the Drummond Range an easily accessible lookout (Picture at left) provides a view of the country to the East and the railway line passing under the Highway as it winds up/down the range.
The Jericho Campground follows the river bank for a few hundred metres and a short walking trail provides a few further views up stream and some interesting insects and Cacti…
