From Keep River we returned to Timber Creek for 2 nights to restock on a few supplies and refuel and then continued back towards Katherine. Planning to stop at the Victoria River Roadhouse the next night we diverted along the way to do the Narwilbinbin Walk.
This takes you up into the overhang of the Victoria River escarpment, past some rock art and back down to the valley floor. A spectacular walk, very rough in places with nothing more than blue arrows to follow and rocks to clamber over…but what an unfolding view! We set a new slow record for ourselves taking 2 hours to do 1.7km with much pausing for photographs and admiring the views.
