On our way North we stayed at Bitter Springs and explored much of this Matarnka area and took a drive out here but did not walk the trail to Mataranka Falls as the track was closed after wet season damage. We therefore decided to stop over for couple of nights and complete it. With the campground almost to ourselves we tackled the walk from 645 am before the heat of the day set in.
