After an extended 3 weeks at Mildura, due in part to a delayed parcel, we finally moved on across the State border into South Austrlia and settled in for a week at the Riverbend Caravan Park in Renmark. Right on the river this park suffered even more than MIldura from the recent floods and has been resurrected with all new turf and much reconstruction. With lovely soft grass sites we were placed with a view of the river from our van without paying the small premium for the few riverfront sites; another plus was the deal of staying 7 nights and paying for 6 as we did at Mildura.

Saturday morning saw Frances doing yet another Parkrun (one incentive for staying here) with the morning at about 10 degrees and a somewhat “cool” breeze along the river seeing me rather “rugged up” talking here with the timekeeper of the day, Peter

The Park here is adjacent to the historic Paringa bridge, opened in 1927 with the railway line no longer there in the centre and the space used as a walkway and continuing to town as a walking trail. The lift span still operates and here is the last of 3 houseboats which went through this morning (Monday), and the bridge lowering back for traffic.

More pictures below of around the Caravan Park.
