Brunswick Junction, so named as a major junction on the railway network, is just over 25km from Bunbury on the South Western Highway. We were aiming for attending the Saturday Parkrun at the Ridley Place Foreshore at Australind, and most Bunbury Caravan Parks were full. As it happens this was a good location being only 12km to the parkrun by a direct route, and the park gave us a large grassy site overlooking the weir and pool on the Brunswick River.

The rail line here is still operational, mainly for the cartage of Alumina from the Worsley Refinery, a short distance away, to the Port of Bunbury

The town still has an operating Milk Processing plant, originally a Peters Dairy but now operated by Brownes Dairy

There’s a walking trail along the River, just over the bridge from the Caravan Park, which loops back into town, here is a walk around, click the image for the full gallery
