Above: Laura’s House before tree and fencing removal
Feb 23, 2017
As March rapidly approaches we are getting ready to leave Brisbane for the next 8 months (Keith has to be back in December for a small medical procedure) and here we look at what has been happening while we have been here.
Most of the time was spent at (daughter) Laura’s as they bought their first house a few months ago and had several projects planned. The first of these was to remove a very large Leopard Tree from the back yard. Keith didn’t do much here but did load a lot of the trimmings into trailers and utes and take several runs to the local tip!
The next project was to replace the side and front fences; a friend of Graham and Laura’s came in to remove the old stumps and fence footings etc. so we had a clear run. The fence was panel type colorbond and early attempts to dig the holes resulted in hiring a petrol auger for the day as the ground was so compacted!
After Christmas and New Year an interior project to provide Laura with a home office in their bedroom was one which Keith offered to do and took most of the next few weeks. We did take a few days break to go to Warwick with Olivia (See previous post).
While here we did get a few things done to our rig, including finishing off mods to the Cruiser; fitting new heavy duty suspension and fixing all the interior “extras”. We also added a second 200 watt Solar panel to the roof giving us 400 watts and allowing the portable panel in future to beused more to keep the Cruiser’s aux. battery topped up when out in the bush.
More news when we hit the road in early March!
