Mount Clarence sits behind the Port of Albany and has the city and surrounds wrapped around it. The summit is also host to the National Anzac Centre and the remains of the Princess Royal Fortress, one of only two pre-federation fortresses built to protect intercontinental trade routes. The presence of this fortress in 1914 allowed the large first convoy for troops to gather here. Full details of the site can be found here https://www.nationalanzaccentre.com.au/visit

We parked at the Centre and walked a mixture of the trail around the twin summits of Mt Clarence and Mt Adeliade together with diverting to the lookouts and memorials along the way; our journey here is anti clockwise and came to 6.75km … and with Quendas hopping around everywhere …
