From Rock to Lake to Rock (and Lake) – After Lake Koorkoordine we passed back through Southern Cross to top up on water and then headed for the Baladjie Nature Reserve, about 60km away. The Reserve offers camping at various locations around the Rock and some overlooking the Lake; there is a toilet and a couple of shelters. We picked a spot close to the rock with a view of the Southern side from our window.
On our first morning we walked around the Southern side and found the way up the smaller of the two sections that create Baladjie Rock; the summit views are stunning around 270 degrees of surrounding bush and farmland with new cereal crops looking green and lush.
