Boulia Caravan Park is at the Eastern entrance to town on the bank of the Burke River and is a real “Hub” for outback travellers; Boulia is at the junction of roads from Winton (East), Birdsville (South) Alice Springs via the Donohoe and Plenty Hwys – (West) and Mt Isa (North). The vast majority of campers here are in either offroad caravans or camper trailers coming or going from the Southern and Western directions for the most part. In our case we are on the easy route of sealed roads both ways arriving from the East and leaving to the North – this time at least – maybe next time?
Boulia – the land of the Min Min Light.
The Min Min light is an unsolved mystery of the area where one or more bright white lights appear, move and hover not far above the ground. The Min Min Encounter is an animatronic display of six different “tales of the light” and a very different tourist experience. The town also has an excellent museum and heritage centre.
