Luggaboine Circuit is a shortened part of the 18km Labillardiere Peninsula circuit walk which goes all the way around the peninsula here at the bottom of South Bruny and is around 3km. Pausing frequently to photograph the walk and the Flora it took us 2 hours to complete. It starts from the corner of the Jetty Beach Campground and finishes along the beach.

The first half of the walk takes you across to the Western side with expansive views across to Southport and the ranges behind into Tasmania’s South West. Being late Spring most of the flowering shrubs were still in bloom and this part of the walk has most of these being a mix of woodland and grasslands.

Turning right at the junction to cross to the Eastern side we shortly came across an Echidna trying to hide and then venturing out and continuing to forage when he though we had gone!

Continuing along the cross track you emerge just North of another secluded beach, for the sake of the pictures we have called this “Link Track Beach”. There is a short track down to the beach from the main trail at this point.

From here the track continues over a small headland and to another beach (Second Beach); this time the main trail traverses the beach (which doesn’t look like it leaves much room at high tide, luckily the tide was out).

After the second beach the trail wanders over the final headlands back to Jetty Beach much of the track is very grown onto with the vegetation finally emerging at the beach itself.
