Mable Bay is the point where day visitors pull over to buy a National Parks Pass at a self serve terminal along Lighthouse Road. Little known, and unsigned, is a walking trail at this location leading down to the beach some 60 metres below. The track is very steep in places and not to be tried in wet weather but today was fine and the overnight rain had dried away. There is a view over the bay from the Parking Area but the beach at the bottom is truly worth the walk.
The walk first follows the driveway to an abandoned quarry and then a side track off the short loop takes you down to the beach below and the views across the bay.
