With a total distance of almost 500km to cover we decided to break the journey and stayed flexible with the options until the day. Having to refuel at Nanutarra Roadhouse that was a possible option but too early so we had a quick lunch in the van and pressed on to the Robe River Rest Area making it just over 300km for the day.
As you leave Bullara and finally rejoin the North West Coastal Highway (HWY1) teh scenery changes considerably having left the final remnants of the Wheatbelt between Geraldton and Carnarvon you now progress into the true Pilabar scenery of redder soil and those red to purple rocky hills and peaks.
