The South Western tip of Australia, Cape Leeuwin is the meeting point of the Southern and Indian Oceans topped by WA’s tallest lighthouse (and the third tallest in the country). We decided to take advantage of a dry weather forecast for the morning today (Wednesday), despite the grey skies, and drive the 10km to the cape and undertake a loop walk plus a visit to the lighthouse complex.

A few variations of walks appeared on Alltrails and so I plotted a 5.6km loop to take in the coast, returning via the roads, then to the lighthouse complex. The first part is the starting or ending 2km of the Cape to Cape walk (Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste) but the information I had didn’t include the fact that it’s better at low tide so a rock scramble was required at one point between beaches!

Several small bays along the way with great coastal views and a coffee at the lighthouse cafe before our walk around the area ($6 each for Seniors if you don’t want the lighthouse tour and climb).
