Spending just 2 nights here gave us time for a couple of walks between some squally showers and periods of high wind. The campground here is divided into sections with online booking for a specific section but then pick your own site – not difficult when we are the only camper in “Quenda”. The only others here on arrival were a large group of walkers in the adjacent section with two minibuses and a large group of tents who left Wednesday morning before we were up!

After arriving on Tuesday we took a walk to the beach to find our proposed route didn’t appear viable so we took the long way down and then discovered the other end of our original track and proceeded to climb back. Maybe not one of our best choices as it was very hard going over loose sand for most of the way and VERY steep; Keith suffered from the failure of circulation in the right leg and had to take a few short stops and Frances’ vertigo was kicking in such was the gradient!

Wednesday we set out to walk part of the Cape to Cape walk to the north but the westerly wind was making it far from pleasant so, after a quick view of our steep ascent of the previous day we elected to trek around 3km to the South instead. This proved to be pleasant bush walk with varying vegetation and took us through the Point Road Campground, a small DBCA camp with only 6 sites and no facilities.
