Leaving Margaret River, we had all morning to do the 40km to Yallingup so we opted to go via Ellensbrook and take in a short walk.

Alfred and Ellen Bussell arrived here in 1857 with three small daughters and a Wadandi (aboriginal) guide and proceeded to create a new home by the spring fed creek, named by Ellen as “Ellen’s Brook”. Now a National Trust property full information can be found here https://www.ntwa.com.au/places-to-visit/ellensbrook/ . Today there was no access / tour available but we strolled around the outside and then walked part of the Cape to Cape track as far as the first walker’s campsite.

After our walk, as it started to shower again, we drove around to the beach carpark, took a brief look at the beach, and then had lunch before the sky cleared and we took a proper beach walk.
