While in the area we took a drive around the loop of Nabiac-Bulahdelah-Forster back to Nabiac (Firefly). Bulahdelah was mostly to take a few photos for Full Range Camping for the site listing and then just back up the highway to the Southern end of Lakes Way.
This takes you over the range to follow the northern side of Myall Lake then through Tarbuck Bay on Smiths Lake and then up the coast, with Lake Wallis on your left. On the way through Booti Booti National Park is the small settlement of Elizabeth Bay which straddles Lake to Ocean.
At Forster we went out to Bennets Head lookout and then back into Forster central and the view from Pilot Hill. Here you look across the end of Lake Wallis to Tuncurry on the Northern side and over the lake mouth and the harbour control tower.
While on Pilot Hill we came across a “Photopol” where you can screw down your camera and use the self timer or remote to take a selfie – so here we are!
