March 7 to 10, 2025
Northampton was declared a Historic Town by the National Trust in 1993 and a local heritage trail takes visitors past many of the historic buildings and locations; we did three short (for us) walks around the town including the first via the Railway Precinct as per the previous post. Unfortunately, the Museum at Chiverton House has not yet re-opened after the Summer break so we could only look at the outside.

A separate image gallery here of the Gwalla area; this was the original settlement just South of the current town and where the railway terminated originally, the first selection of images are the Railway precinct. The first church was built here on the hill with the cemetery adjacent and the early notable settlers are buried here.
