With a choice of routes Northward (loosely!) from Conargo we opted for travelling through Jerilderie and on to Narrandera, stopping overnight at the small rest area at Jerilderie Weir. Just a small grass and gravel area on the edge of town there are no facilities here but flat ground and a very short stroll to the weir itself and the adjacent bridge over Billabong Creek (yes, the same creek as at Conargo further upstream).

We were told by a neighbouring property owner that the Creek is to be diverted to provide more water into the Irrigation system and the weir will dry up for most of the year; unfortunately this means that Conargo will lose their swimming hole as well.
