A campground we hadn’t got to before and on the way back South towards Brisbane. Jimna Forest lies to the north of Kilcoy but our approach was from the north via Goomeri along there Kilcoy-Murgon Road. From the South, the road is all sealed, but there is 80km of not so perfect stony dirt road from this direction. The campground is divided into two areas: each with a toilet block and good grass surface for campers of all sizes and types. Managed by National Parks booking before arriving is needed as the onsite wifi has not worked for some considerable time and there is no mobile service here.
This is an area you have to share with the local kangaroos and birdlife, the ‘roos wandering and feeding over the whole camping area and not at all concerned about the human visitors.
