Top: The Diversion Dam at Kununurra
The town that started in 1961 as a result of the development of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme and the ultimate construction subsequently of the Ord River Dam, creating Lake Argyle.
We stayed at the Lake Kununurra Discovery Caravan Park for 5 days, pictured here.
Out of town we ventured to Valentine Springs and Black Rock Pool and to both sides of the famous Ivanhoe Crossing which is currently closed with water flow too high; click on any of the 3 images here for the photo gallery of these and around the Lake:
