Lake Douglas Recreation Reserve is a Council provided free camp just 15km from the middle of Kalgoorlie; multiple single toilets, tables and rubbish bins , regularly serviced by Council and acres of camping space among the trees. The lake itself is some km from the campground but there is a dam at the entrance which is currently, and obviously for some time, totally dry.

Saturday morning was another Kalgoorlie parkrun with Frances gaining a new PB at 26:09 and setting the age-graded record for the Kalgoorlie Boulder Parkrun overall !

There is a whole “spiderweb” of tracks throughout the whole area and we wandered around several times during our 4 day stay over the long weekend. We were rewarded with a couple of reptiles, a few birds and some great views from the ridges to the East of the campground.
