Nest stop along the slow trail towards Perth was Lake Koorkoordine ; just 7km North of the town of Southern Cross there is bush camping along a section of the Lake’s Western side. With views across the Lake the pink salt can clearly be seen around the edges and in this shallows as the water slowly evaporates between rain periods.
With a windy and cool day when we arrived we took the opportunity on the next morning to walk to the Northern tip of the main Lake, a return of 4km. Great variety of plant life and rock formation here between the Sandstone, Quartz and others.
