Just another 20km from the Conto Campground on Thursday brings us into Margaret River and the Tourist Park for a week, another member park of Summerstar who are offering a Winter rate of $25/night the same as we utilised at Walpole and have booked at Busselton. In an unusual position the park is at the end of the industrial area with the local camping store right next door, Mitre10 a short stroll and Bunnings around the corner.
Our first “excursion” on Friday was to check the Parkrun course before Saturday’s run for Frances and we walked the whole course. The run on Saturday was a good turnout of around 50 runners (they can get up to 250 at peak season) and as usual I offered to do their photography and after the start I went to the point where the route crosses the weir about 1km before the finish.
