Pine Creek sits right at the junction of the Stuart Highway and the Kakadu Highway, the Southern entrance/exit from Kakadu. Like many, it started as a mining town
W stayed here at the local racecourse campground known as Pussycat Flats; this provides a number of powered sites, a large area for unpowered and all usual amenities including a laundry. Water is on hand to fill tanks for the unpowered campers.
Photo Gallery: The town has a Miners Lookout above the water supply dam which retains a couple of protected mine shafts, the first images show these. Next a walk along the Walk Through Time and then the Water Gardens, all adjacent to the town and the old highway.
