Just 35km North of Horrocks is the settlement of Port Gregory, established originally as the port for the Geraldine lead mine being the closest practical point. In time as the mine closed and better transport options were available the Port of Geraldton became the most practical location along this part of the coastline with deeper water and less of the dangerous reefs.

Port Gregory has a caravan park (some distance from teh beach) and local store but with only a single access point to the beach and the Picnic Area currently being rebuilt it doesn’t offer as much as Horrokcs for a stay. The jetty here is slowly disappearing into the sand (pic)

Just before you arrive at Port Gregory you pass by The Pink Lake, a truly deep Pink to purple colour visible more as you get slightly above it
