January 10-14, 2022
We had arranged for our caravan to be serviced at the Caboolture factory on January 10 and checked out of the Pine Rivers Showgrounds. The van was going to be most of the day and so we decided to defer going over to Ipswich by a few days and after a day trip to Bribie Island booked into the Caravan Park at Toorbul on the mainland side of Pumicestone Passage.
Woorim is the Surf Beach of Bribie Island and the township that nestles along it. This short walk takes in the beach to the boundary of the park permit area and back past some remnants of World War 2 installations; the block building was the generator hut.
The Toorbul Caravan Park is a Council owned park and as such the best value in the area; Toorbul has only a small store and bar but is only 20 minutes (17km) from Caboolture for major shopping. You can walk the foreshore and Esplanade for about 2 km to a bird sanctuary at the Eastern end.
