Leaving Mullewa and turning back Southwards towards Perth we have 7 days left in our Widlfower sojourn. The tiny settlement of Canna is around halfway between Mullewa and Morawa on the railway line but never grew, the Store finally stopped trading in the early 2000s but is still a residence and kept as tidy as the rest of the “village”, it must have one of the few Neptune Brand old fuel bowsers still standing in its original position.

A 48 hour donation campground is located behind the Canna Hall and there is both old and new toilets and a single (and disabled) shower; a BBQ and shelter is provided for campers to use their own gas bottle.

The community have mapped out three walking trails in the immediate area. On our afternoon here we decided on the Dam and Lookout Rock walk, a total of around 5.5km. The Lookout Rock proved a little steep for our liking so settled on ascending only the first stage but still got good views back to the village area.
