April 30 to May 2, 2023
The Victory Park Caravan Park here is Council owned and has great roomy sites, half backing to the river. The whole park was flooded about 80cm in this years floods and a new amenities block is being built, meanwhile, the old one has been cleaned up as much as possible to keep it operational. A feature of the park has always been free washing machines and two new ones have been installed.
We took a walk around the town and not much has changed since our last stay here in 2017, a couple more restorations have been finished including the Queens Arms, now a gallery and AirBnB. A new coffeeshop has been opened by the Catholic Community and we enjoyed a coffee and cake.
After all the rains of the past year and the Darling River being at full flow the birdlife has returned in great quantities; many here around the weir which is adjacent to the Caravan Park.
