As you approach the final short descent to Lake Dobson you travel across Wombat Moor, an open stretch of high moorland country. Along the first 200m of the path to Lakes Belton and Belcher is a boardwalk with interpretive signs of all the various shrubs, groundcovers and trees that are found in this fairly bleak landscape.

From this high plains vantage point, the crest across Mt Mawson and the ski fields area is clearly visible
