After our break for a walk at the old Balingup Racecourse our destination for the next 4 days was the Wrght’s Bridge Campground; a camp managed by DBCA it has two camping loops with a toilet in each and a variety of camping spaces to suit different rigs. You do have to book online and select a site so taking note of the sizes is critical and we had a 16m x 8m space which had good solar and Starlink service even though the whole area is heavily treed.

While there are no surrounding tracks and walk trails there is a riverside path here and a walk around the campground including it can generate a walk of up to 3km; as well a short strolls we completed two such walks with variations and Frances did multiple laps for a 17km training run encountering a Western Tiger Snake on the way

The campground sits in the middle of a loop in the Blackwood River which is the largest river in the South West and begins near the wheat belt town of Wagin, before flowing through Boyup Brook, Bridgetown and Nannup to its final destination into the ocean at Augusta.
