Yackandandah Gorge is just on the edge of town and easiest accessed by parking at the Sports Centre and walking upstream as these images show in sequence. The walk length is about 1.5km (and then back) and ends a 100m or so past the style at a point where the local landowner has a pump into the creek.
The Gorge was created by gold miners diverting the creek to dig for Gold and diverting the water through a “race” to also sluice out any Gold from the running water; this Race is the deep cutting seen on the photos just upstream from the footbridge.
