Leaving Old Macs Farm we headed Westerly but staying inland via Longford and stopped for the day at Bishopsbourne where the rec ground is available for up to 2 day camping via permit from the Northern Midlands Council.
An irrigation channel runs alongside the reserve here and the seepage of running water was gradually encroaching on our annex area – just as well we were only staying one night!
The War Memorial, as in many small communities, reflects the loss of six men from one family in WW2; on a brighter note there were some very colourful blooms along the main road opposite.
Overall a very pleasant spot for an overnight stay.
