After our detour to Cradle Mountain we looked for somewhere to possibly connect to power and recharge our batteries after about ten very cloudy days.
Having decided that the town of Sheffield would be our next destination the two possibilities were the Gowrie Park Village (Caravan Park) or the Round Hill Coffee and Cafe who have a few sites behind the cafe.
On arriving we decided this would do so here we were for two nights. Also gave us a chance to catch up on washing (again) as they have a washer and dryer available for campers.
Parked at the front is this wonderful old converted bus; for many years it was christened the “Abel Tasman” (the Tassie ferry of the day) and took part in many Variety bashes around Tasmania. Having been out of action for some time the owner gave it to Dale, the cafe owner, and eventually visitors will be able to sit inside with their coffee.
