Darwin at last on June 10, five weeks after leaving the Brisbane area. We had, on the way, booked into a small private campground which came recommended called Lucy’s Rest. In the outer rural suburb of Bees Creek it offers water and portaloos plus a bush shower for only $15/night; a bargain for Darwin considering the Caravan Parks up here are charging $60-70 for powered sites. Not needing power we can use our generator here when our power runs a little low as there are a lot of trees so not quite full solar gain every day.

Our first journey into Darwin (33kms) was to the Waterfront where we strolled around by the town beach and pools and lunched at the Snapper Rocks Restaurant where we both sampled the Salt and Pepper Crocodile – Yum!
