Travelling only 40km East from Narrogin we spent the night at the WIckepin RV Stop. The is located on the site of one (the?) original wheat bin alongside the railway, the concrete resulting in part circles is a giveaway of the type of construction which once was common with curved corrugated iron panels between posts.. Wickepin , like many smaller towns has shrunk over the years and now has very limited retail and the hotel is closed for renovations after being sold. Being so close to Narrogin it will no doubt remain at its current level with the Shire well supported by the agricultural sector which is mostly grain crops and sheep with several Merino Studs in the district including Lewisdale right on the edge of the town.
After our arrival, we took a short walk around the perimeter of the town area including the Gnome Village:
