Wickepin is the early home of Albert Facey, Author of “My Fortunate Life”, unfortunately, written and published not long before his death at the age of 87. Albert’s homestead has been relocated from the old farm to the town, almost adjacent to the RV Stop and can be inspected inside for a small fee and collecting a key from the local store.
Behind Facey’s Homestead is a Heritgae Walking Trail that passes by some of the earlier structures on the northern side of the creek. Building here was abandoned after the creek flooded and the town then grew on the Southern side.
