On our second day (Tuesday) Frances wanted to do a training run so we went down to the foreshore and the Parkrun course; while F was training Keith went to walk the same pathway. It may well start on the flat but is the hilliest Parkrun we have encountered so far with no less than 4 hills ! While Frances was clocking up around 14km Keith walked about 6km photographing the whole route along the way out and back.
Officially the Mount Clarence Parkrun it starts and finishes in Middleton Beach and the pathway is the Ellen Cove to Albany Port Pathway which is 3km in total making it easy to fit in a 5km Parkrun out and back course. Still a lot of flowering shrubs in bloom and a couple of new things to see including the King Skink which pop out of the bushes everywhere; the size of the common blue tongue or shingleback lizards they are very different with legs more resembling the Goanna .
The Gallery here takes you the full 3km to the port, overlooking a woodchip ship being loaded. ALon the ay are several information signs about the early days of Albany and the visit of Charles Darwin
