Earlier in the year we visited the Desert Park which is just on the outskirts of Alice and owned/operated by the NT Parks and Wildlife Service.  This is a great complex and we spent over 5 hours there including having lunch in the cafe (sorry Tess – no dogs allowed – had to stay at the caravan),

We arrived just in time for the bird display which was quite amazing with the level of training of all the birds as this is entirely in the open air.  First up was the Magpie, followed by the Barn Owl, Bush stone curlew, Whistling Kite and Black (Fork Tailed) Kite.
