Betty’s Beach is a free Albany City Council campground around 45km East of Albany and14km off the Southern Highway, mostly on sealed road. It’s a very small camp which is a Salmon Fishing camp for 10 weeks from mid February to the end of April when it is closed to camping; the shacks around the area are all as used by the fishers and not available for use to camp in but are open as shelter if needed.

The day we travelled from Kalgan River was on-and-off rain and we took a chance there would be a spot for us with the poor weather and there was; with only 6 official sites it’s a bit of a gamble you have to take.

An Aerial view of the campground

A general walk around the campground, beaches and nearby tracks:

This is a longer walk of around 4.5km return along a track to an outlook over the nearby Normans Beach where there is a smaller campground; there is no access to the beach however from this track but some great views.
