Leaving Dalby after a week it was time to head South towards NSW to cross the border at Goondiwindi. This area, thanks to the local councils, (notably Toowoomba Regional Council) offers several RV camps with max stays of 3 days which makes for a nice pleasant slow pace of crossing the countryside. Out of Dalby the first of these is on the banks of the Condamine River at Cecil Plains.
Apex Park here is the extension of a small Picnic area which has a toilet block, town water to fill the tanks with and lots of camping space (so long as it is dry!). Being a blacksoil area the ground outside of the gravel area is totally unuseable if wet; this would still leave room for half a dozen vans if it was wet, but otherwise there is room for a couple of dozen or more.
