September 25 – Oct 2, 2015

On the way to Dalby the next morning we stopped for lunch at the Lions Park at Jandowae, great little spot but not available for overnight stays. The Lions Park here includes the old Jandowae station building and has a miniature railway track behind, dual gauge so obviously used by a couple of groups or enthusiasts; no sign of when it is used but a informative sign the the Ghan Museum could do with in Alice. We did discover that the local caravan park has become a workers camp and is all Dongas; because of this they have opened the local Showground for RVs but we don’t know any details; maybe next time through here?

The Dalby Tourist Park offers partly shady grass sites along the creek side and drive through sites in the middle on bitumen; there is a tent camping area with camp kitchen and shelter and all very clean and tidy.

Positioned as it is it is only 300m to Woolworths over the creek and a similar walk to the Post Office round the other way via the highway bridge over Myall Creek.  We stayed here for a week with a pay six, stay seven deal ($198).
