A distance of 210km in total includes returning down th peninsula which borders Shark Bay to the North West Coastal Highway, in itself a distance of 130km; we were again confronted with some headwinds but arrived in Wooramel Station in time for lunch.
Getting out of Denham was again a “dodge the Emus” exercise who like wandering down the middle of the main road; along both the highway and the Shark Bay Road you cross the 26th parallel (Tropic of Capricorn) and around here we were overtaken by a fuel tanker triple road train, the sheer horse power overcoming more of the headwind than we could manage by a few kph ..



Gladstone Scenic Lookout:
Gladstone Bay is a smaller north-facing bay with nothing more than a campground managed by Yaringa Station, and the remains of the jetty from its days as a port of sorts for early station holders: maybe a visit at another time? A short sealed road leads to the top of a flat top hill with stunning views in all directions:
