March 29-April 2, 2025
One of several Stations in the North West who have camping available Wooramel has a well laid out area over 1km long with riverfront and open sites, tent and group areas, cabins, basic glamping tents, camp kitchens, toilets, showers and a new laundry at the new Cafe complex (Cafe not open until next weekend unfortunately).
As a working cattle (and goat) property expect to have cattle wandering around the campsites like these calves here last night (Monday)
The property occupies an area of 1,430 square kilometres (552 sq mi) and is situated along the North West Coastal Highway, with 60 kilometres (37 miles) frontage to the road providing 10-month-a-year access to most parts of the station. Wooramel also has 60 kilometres (37 mi) of coastline frontage to the Indian Ocean and backs onto the Shark Bay World Heritage area.
Having run up to 50,000 sheep for decades, the property now runs cattle and goats in a regenerative model under the stewardship of the Steadman family who have owned the pastoral Lease since 1987.

Part of the Wooramel adventure is taking their 4WD trail around the property, a total of over 65kms it takes you to the coastal strip and round via the old Woolshed and shearers quarters then back to the river before returning to the Station. We stopped during the loop for a snack lunch at the Wooramel Roadhouse.
