We ended up spending about 10 days in Deni at the riverside campground and took a little look around the town before leaving.  Deni seems to be thriving with few empty shops and all the goods and services you need including both Coles and IGA supermarkets, a large Mitre10 Hardware (not Bunnings – yet!), the usual Maccas of course (a sign of town size I’m sure – Deni is about 8000 people).

Next to the bridge over the Edward River is the Peppin Heritage Centre, using the original Public School in a new, but still educational, role. At the rear is the river with a couple of hire houseboats moored awaiting the holiday season.

Next door to the Peppin Centre is a board and display relating to the project to turn old Utes into artwork; part of the Annual Ute Muster which has made Deni well known for now 20 years.
