After our week in Esperance it was time to head north for our Christmas stay in Kalgoorlie; the first stop after 106kms was the small town of Salmon Gums and their Community Caravan Park, a cash only park with a resident caretaker and $20/night with power and water or just $10 in the unpowered section.
From the park there is a short walk of about 2km return to a very large “Burl” at the base of a very old Salmon Gum across the road from the Park.
Our other strolling around took us through the central part of the township and around the bush along the railway line
